How is GWP working in your store?

This past week has been hell at our store. Today all the GM side TL close and tomorrow all the GM side and 2 apparel TLs are off. This morning there is nobody that can sell a gun in Sporting Goods and nobody to mix paint in Hardware. Last night they had all of our apparel associates at the door as well as both toy associates. That left nobody on the GM because the Seasonal associate left at 5 and nobody was scheduled later. All these plus we have had 11 trucks the past 8 nights so freight is everywhere.

So, how is it working where you are at?

Nothing has changed at all and still no coverage but it's a great work place right?

We can't hire enough people because Walmart only pays minimum wage and all other stores pay $12-15 an hour. Hard to hire people when they can go across the street and make $1-4 dollars an hour more with just as many hours.

Not terrible.

At our store it has been a total disaster. Short staffed and freight backed all the way up in the backroom.

How is the tl Asm? I am a new tl for the back room and everything stay the same. I do not see how is this the same with Asm.

All selections have been made for the new roles – but our store will not officially start GWP until after the Black Friday sales events – they thought it would be kinder that way – and I agree. BUT, I have always said – some things will never change. We won't have enough staffing, we will all be handling 4 or 5 Depts. at a time, we will be cashiering, pushing carts, doing everyone's freight – and oh, can't forget OGP – we will all be called to OGP as needed, especially with the holidays coming up. So really – the TL positions are ASM positions – but hourly – and the rest of it will be the same craziness we have always had.
