So Walmart store HRs are being told to change each employees job code under the new management reconstruction. The reason for this is that the new job code you are not eligible for severance pay. Please double check your job code.

It is absolutely everything wrong and yes they are changing associates job code without their knowledge or consent.
They lied to the associates about the severance package!!! Told them they weren't qualified!! So, yes ma'am they are trying to do some dirty
You had to choose severance or a new position. Nobody is trying to do anything wrong here. If you chose severance and they changed your job code then contact your People OPS Lead.
They tried doing that to me when I worked for Sears here in California. I called the State Labor board and they said they could not change my job code without consulting me first.
In California call the State Labor Board to clarify if they can actually do that without telling you.
