Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Walmart being generous or just sees us as robots?

The news revealed that Walmart had severed ties with Bossa Nova Robotics, so managing products on the shelves would be left to humans rather than robots. Does that definitely mean we cost less than robots?
That is more than sad.

"Robots" are a one time purchase, and do not require the "thousands" of software updates you suggest. They also don't call in or answer cell phones, and no benefits what so ever. The technology inst quite there yet for the overall investment. They will go back to this process, but self check out is more of a priority.

robots cost tens of thousands of dollars and need thousands of dollars of expensive upkeep and software updates. Humans just need to show up to a minimum wage job. You do the math.
