Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Journalist covering energy at Business Insider

Hey all —

I'm a reporter at Business Insider, where I cover the energy industry. I've written a lot about oil majors including Chevron, and what's happened since the spring. I occasionally pop in here and thought I'd drop my contact info.

I'm looking for more folks who are interested in talking about their experience with the company. I'm happy to keep the conversation confidential and I never publish names or other identifying info without permission. (We take protecting source identity very seriously, as you can imagine.)

If you're open to chatting, you can reach me at benjijones@protonmail.com (encrypted) or bjones@businessinsider.com. My number on Signal, which is also my cell #, is 646-768-1657.

I for one know I've am discriminated, I was layd-off, I didn't take nor sign the package and I am in process of suing Chevron. I had perfect performance for the past 5 years, very well regarded, perfect results and yet 55 of age. So you do the math :)

Sorry to you Chevroids, but I doubt your company can produce the quality of dirty entertainment as your new Nobloid buddies. From AJ the highly-rewarded upskirter, to the VP caught in a leasing scam, to The Denver Manager fired for harassment, and many other follies.

But take solace that all those clowns delivered Noble to you at a fire sale price that must have VH and The Oracle of Omaha green with envy. Just be wary of the nightmarish managers that CVX took on board. Who knows maybe one of them will hatch a scandal as entertaining as the ones we got to see at Noble.

@1vvs+17JYL2f7 ... do you think it is that difficult to find Benji's contact information if someone wanted to talk to him without this post that he initiated and made himself transparent? For those of us who want to bring transparency to events and decisions, there is always a way to find out contacts in the right places ...

Something to consider writing about is ...

On this day (Nov 3rd) in 2008: Tesla secures $40 million loan to avoid bankruptcy. Today, Tesla is the most valuable automaker in the world.

Put it in comparison of what the oil majors have done in this industry the past 12 years.

You inherited the clown show of Upskirtin' Arne and his pal Dirty Dave!

They'll try their hardest to bury the Arne Johnson story, you can bet on that. What would Chevron do if a Sr VP was caught taking pictures up women's skirts, in the office? Would they let him quietly resign, give him millions and tell employees he had family issues?

Why don't you check this out:

While you're at it, look into why Noble's resource estimates were so over inflated. Those two stories should keep you busy for quite some time.
