All this effort and IT still keeps lazy a$$ team leads with no technical clue. What a big disappointment. These people won’t perform but will be able to buy time until the company yo-yos back to more levels of management again so these clueless ex-team leads can continue their BS shams.
@hvy You can’t check or verify qualifications if you don’t technically know like most of the higher ups. That’s what pathways (website check boxes with evidence ....believe it was pathways) was suppose to solve but didn’t. Managers didn’t approve over a certain level due to the psg of employees. And of course managers and TL didn’t have to do it so they were safe. Remember it’s a system rigged by the people with the gold so they can keep the gold. Don’t take this the wrong way I am way right but it is what it is. Most people want there cut before being fair.
Yes, the shocker is the bad people they kept and even worse, promoted. It is all about brown nosing and favoritisms. Qualifications are the last on the selection criteria being checked.
It doesn’t matter. Everyone knows this has been a sh!tshow. There were indeed too many people and not enough positions. Lot of good people just ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time with unfamiliar job owners making the selections. Most of the PDR’s dislike this cr@p as much as the rest of us.
I can tell you this I saw some good people leave, I also saw a lot of bad people leave as well. The shocker is the bad people they kept. I guess they manage up well, a lot of them lie and don’t do any work but they manage up. A lot of the workers are very strong technically and perform work but don’t manage up which means then the others who manage up take their work and present it up as if they did it. It’s BS. We can only hope that it come back to bite them.
Yep. Same response. My rep was obviously reading from a prepared speech. When I asked questions - would look at paper in front of him and read from it. They are worried about law suits
I have found when you ask the question the answer is usually generic like, the other one who applied was more qualified, or they had a certain quality or skill they were looking for.
I’ve also heard after selections that some arn’t picked because they are difficult to work with. But you are not likely to get that feedback.
Feedback rich culture. This company does all they can to avoid confrontation and that comes with feedback, or the lack thereof. It would have been nice to know why I wasn’t “competitive” enough but they have no reason to let me go. Other than my selection reps individual opinion and my salary and age. What a joke.
Yeah no feedback is necessary. If you are out for whatever reason, count your blessings as CVX is providing 3X severance package and healthcare vs all other companies including Exxon. They are being offered only 3 months of salary irrespective of years of service.
Asked for it and was told the only thing he could say is there weren't enough positions for everyone......a cowardly HR approved talking point if I've ever heard one. They won't tell you anything that will open them up to litigation.
Asked and was told the only thing he could tell me is that there weren't enough places to put people.......no sh*t
A feedback rich environment was going to help us win in any environment - starts in 2021
