Thread regarding Emerson Electric Co. layoffs

This company has stagnated

You can’t change a company that wastes billions of dollars in acquisitions that have not generated any money for the past decade or more. This company has stagnated. They underpay, they are unwilling to keep employees trained. Software is getting hard. There is no area where this company is a leader in that space. We don’t have a single piece of software that others use because the entire company simply doesn’t understand how modern software is built.

If I was an executive I would have rage balls to tell whoever id–t comes with a plan to acquire another company for millions to go f— themselves. Instead to look at the areas of the company that are producing money and invest in those teams. Bigger raises, give them the latest tools the rest of the world uses, hire people to train them, and encourage them to create open source software and to use it.

It’s no use. This company is behind the curve and will be forever.

And now Emerson announces yet another VP in the HR group to lead diversity efforts. As if the Corporate HR group wasn’t already bloated while the BUs can’t hire engineers.

I tried to post yesterday but it was deleted.

This is Stephanie and if I decide to post here, like now, I’ll identify myself. I’ve never been afraid to speak my mind openly.

Whoever is still obsessed with me to the point of deluding yourself that half the posts here are me, you really should move on. I understand how being a jealous hater gets harder when I’m over here knocking your project d–k in the dirt but s— it up and learn to get used to it.

You guys are all losers. You cannot make it in Emerson and are just whining and complaining. Too bad for you all. Leave Emerson if you are still around. Try finding a job elsewhere.

An Emerson executive.

That’s the problem with Emerson. People are promoted not because they are good but because the color of their skin or their length of service.

Sabee will promote all his countrymen and countrywomen, regardless whether they are dumb or idi*tic.

It's the same for all the Vice Presidents in the various biz units. They trained by Sabee to behave and think like him that they're similarly useless, even the country managers.

I do believe we all agree on one thing: a change in leadership is needed and needed now. The sooner the better.

Keep dreaming about Jamie becoming CEO. Not going to happen. THAT would be the nail to Emerson’s coffin.

If your name is not on the wall in the special room at Emerson HQ in St Louis, you don’t have a chance. It’s a dumb stupid id–tic practice of Emerson.

The bitterness is misplaced. Current employees are directing their anger at those who left and have been successful. They are stuck now in a company where the writing is on the wall and instead of being angry at management, they grovel at their feet hoping to keep their jobs when the next round of layoffs comes. No one to blame but themselves for staying.

Speaking of bitter, that's a pretty bitter remark to say to people, many of whom were probably laid off after faithfully dedicating the better part of their careers to Emerson. Now you are on here adding insult to injury. I don't know who Stephenie is, or who you think you are, but it's tough to keep your skills up at Emerson because they aren't very innovative with their technologies or open to new ideas. Those kind of remarks are emblematic of the entitled and arrogant attitude of many of the leadership at Emerson. I left Emerson and immediately doubled my salary, even though you might think I plateaued 15 years ago. Emerson has a way of picking their favorites early on and making everyone else feel like they are just lucky to have a job. My advise to others is don't let them try and keep you down. Dust yourselves off and know that you are not defined by Emerson or the opinions of their inept leadership.

I know half of these posts are Stephanie Sirt, but the other half of you are bitter losers too. Find a better job then - oh wait, you plateaued 15 years ago and no one else would hire you. Sorry.

Well said. The racis*t Farr is the biggest problem for Emerson. Get rid of this SOB and Emerson’s problems disappear.

I left Emerson 15 years ago and saw first hand how Farr was vindictive and cronyism. Many people complain about the poor track record on acquisitions, which is fair, but the biggest failure has been weak leadership appointments and the brain drain if were a "friend of Farr"

Jamie is the chosen successor, whether you like it or not. It is not LK, much to the dismay of some people.

Jamie is not remotely qualified to be a CEO. I also can’t imagine the Emerson Board wanting someone in that spot for the next 20+ years like the past two CEOs. Those days are long over in today’s business climate. I guess we will all find out in 2021.

Annonymous99...why did you say Jamie has no chance to be CEO? He will be next year when DF retires. It is not going to be LK.

Do away with Emerson Way. It was appropriate for the 80s, not in today’s day and age. Get rid of POR, it’s so short term focused. Encourage and reward creativity and innovation. Promote people who are innovative, thought leaders, not long serving executives.

Stop the acquisition. The joke in the industry is Emerson is THE s—er that you sell your company to. They pay the highest and most ridiculous premium.
