We’ve known for over three years that they were going to close. What’s surprising is that the announcement today didn’t mention anything about offering work from home when they close. I guess the plan to get rid of higher paid tenured employees who occupy the nonhub offices still stands.

WFH wasn't an option 3 years ago so why would it be now? We've known for 3 YEARS this is coming.
California is expensive to operate in, that is why Allstate and a few other insurance companies have already closed their offices in CA, it isn't surprising others are following.
You people are too much. On a site where you all bemoan the layoffs, you’re eager to point out all the OTHER people who are useless, overpaid, and need to go.
Birmingham and Murfreesboro should be next! A lot of overpaid and underworked staff there! March on to the hubs, close the rest. Focus on the needs of the customers to remain competitive.
What happened to these locations slated to close in 2020; Indianapolis; Downers Grove; West Lafayette?
Either you move to a hub, or take the transition (buyout).
California pays more to the government than those backwoods red states who are clearly the takers.

Good luck everyone. You think you’re safe but if such a specialized and still much needed group didn’t Make it, the rest of us aren’t safe either. How long until they outsource all our jobs?
