They were cut to make it appear that more staff is available for customers. Instead of staffing more people, Belk's policy is to exhaust the workforce you have even while restricting hours.

Still no access to fridge or microwave? That's rough. I use the microwave every day. I'm not a chik fila fan.At least the vending machines finally got refilled. And I'm also looking for another job.
I saw that last week, assumed it was a mistake, took my hour. No one noticed 🤷♀️
I see now that it isn’t. Thirty minutes is useless in a location with nothing around for miles (Chick-fil-A, closed on Sundays) and no access to microwave or fridge.
This is a give and take situation. Taking my hour, giving my notice.
