Show me or tell me about 1 great Director or Sr Manager at Oxy!

I really can't think of one that stands above the mediocrity that is Oxy.

So if we say execs are bad and the next few layers are bad... what does that say about us as a company?

Great managers and directors will find useful value added work for their teams. That’s what they always do.

@bombpew,

There are a few who I am sure are busy. But what are you busy on?

What has been given to most LAPC has been busy work at best and at worst redundant without having all information or access to systems/data to properly perform.

So in reality, would you blame them if the effort matches the importance of the work?

Not sure who is doing nothing but our team is extremely busy and understaffed... it’s frustrating to hear that there are so many people doing nothing, but managers will make it look like they are to keep their empires.

This BS about calling people out for f-ing off during WFH is easily solvable if managers were held accountable for their reports. And if the manager is covering for their reports f-ing off then their manager should be held accountable. It’s not rocket surgery.

Once you learn the system it is easy to BS, especially if all you do is write emails or if you part of a team activity that happens no matter what work you do.

Are people actually doing this? The LAPC people I've been in contact with seem pretty busy and have a lot to say about their work. Although, I feel like sometimes it's hot air.

How can companies keep paying people to work from home with little accountability. Even if accountable are people doing useful work given the commodity prices and lack of drilling and development projects. Furloughing employees maybe an option.

This post perfectly summarizes why we have to end WFH for LAPC as soon as possible.
