I went to a local BN, and they had a professional sign printed stating that they are hiring. I was astounded to say the least. It was right at the front door. I wonder if they asked all the furloughed and laid off employees back first? This is a really rotten thing to do. Down with BN, Daunt, Riggio.

And then there was someone like me. Supposedly loved by managers. Top membership producer. Used to ring up over 50% of sales. Was the go to person for all the cashiers. Brought a customer base of wealthy friends. But I could not do 24/7. They were no longer interested in my weekend/evening expert help and I was banished.
Not true.
Our store brought two back that drove the
Managers crazy, because they had seniority.
Some employees complained because we had better options, but the store manager said they had been with the company longer.
No more furlough. Managers were allowed to fire those they didn’t like and make accommodations to keep those they do like.
Once a great fun company to work for and now just a horribly depressing and stressful hell.
There are no more furloughed employees. We were all terminated. If you weren’t available 24/7 you weren’t allowed back.
