Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

SPIRIT VALUES ARE CHANGING TO SIRIT VALUES

1) Announcing $1B in buybacks!
2) Increase in the dividend to shareholders!
3) Acquisition of Concho Resources for > 9 $B USD and >8 Bbbls of resource

And a reduction of our heritage COP employees that got us here. No need for the “P-people” in our values any longer!

Because when it splits into 2, each company can have 7.5 board members.

15 Board members when Concho Tim comes on. Exxon and Chevron only have 10 Board Members each. Why does COP need 50% more than those companies???

You can probably eliminate Integrity too.
So, we’ve got RIT left?

I would argue the S is gone as well since they reopened the Houston office during a pandemic. I suppose they gathered the cattle back up for the slaughter.

So happy the King of I (nnovation) was able to goof off for months in the woods and return to his 23+ job. Still a cry baby maybe.

"Ryan said it is absolutely a takeover, not a merger. But the only people losing their jobs so far are loyal staff in Ryan’s company, while Concho Tim gets the crown prince seat on the board"

$100M of the cost-cutting is going to hit the Concho side of the company. Concho employees have already been smacked with a sneaky round of firings that scared the hell out of everyone a year ago (at least Conoco tells you what is coming), mixed with a severance package for all employees above age 55 this summer. Probably about 30% of Concho already gone in the last 12 months, and another 20-30% will be wiped out by the $100M of cost-cutting in the merger.

You always have a chance to leave at anytime.

Hey, no need to worry, “our SPIRIT values will be our North Star” according to Ryan. What a load of B.S. How many employees livelihoods would be saved by simply reducing the ELTs compensation package? That would be putting people first. I’m tired of the hot air they keep on blowing up our backside after six rounds of layoffs.

As long as uncle Ryan is happy, we should all be happy. Even as we file for unemployment.
