Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Going to the dogs

Belk looks like a storm went through it . It's not the associates fault. There are not enough of them working to keep the place clean. The company is letting it go to the dogs.

Anonymous, I feel you. Im weary of telling customers about the app because their eyes glaze over anyway. Why doesn't Belk just get rid of coupons? Have a sale and if it's 60% off then just sell it for that! I'm tired of customers asking me where's the coupons? I don't have a coupon, how do I get one? I tell them about the Belk app, demonstrate it on my own phone. "oh no, that's too much trouble. I can't do that. My grandson set up my phone." Whatever..
Everything this company demands of us is counterintuitive. Time curbside but don't take into account the customers who use the Flyby app, come in, walk right past BOPIS station, go shopping, and then come back and ask for their package 30 minutes later. And the clock is still running. Capture emails and then bombard customers' inboxes multiple times a day with bs sales ads which is so friggin annoying. I even unsubscribed. Schedule people to come in and do go backs for all the returns 30 minutes before the store opens. Then there's three z racks of go backs in better, stuff piled high on the cash wrap in accessories and intimates. On top of that, pick 100 to 200 units daily and try and find your items among all the mess. No rejections!!!

It really is a nightmare working for belk. I am making it through each day thinking it will be the last while I look for something else. Not only do you have to handle being greeter, watch bopis and curbside all while helping people download apps, run a register, open credit cards, collect emails, sell charity tickets, handle all go backs, a pick list, markdowns and put away freight and do all of this while not leaving your register. All this for $9 an hour but don't you know you are lucky to have a job! And hiring people just gives some of us another duty to train them. Why don"t they just close already so we can pursue other choices full time. Unfortunately it looks like they are going to try to make it through the holiday season. Things are about to get a lot worse if that's even possible.

It is an absolute nightmare working here. I don't know how much longer I can stay. It's so mismanaged.
