Anyone that's been severed already, or knows much about this? I could have sworn that I read in the docs previously provided that they would pay the severance sometime between time of notification, up until the 60th day after that. But now I've heard from someone that was in the first wave, that Allstate can technically withhold the severance up to 60 days AFTER you have severed. This person received their remaining PTO and last paycheck on their last day, and the severance check a week after. I know there's that goofy formula they use to calculate how much PTO you actually get paid for. For any former Esurance people, beware, you might receive your accrued PTO from Esurance, but Allstate pays out differently, With them, you only receive a pro-rated amount of PTO paid. It shouldn't be too big of a deal since you will only lose out on the accrued days of PTO in December.

The PTO left on your check is through the end of the year. You will get anything accrued through your last day. You will not get them all.

Allstate paperwork states they will pay out accrued unused PTO; pro-rated for the time you have worked less time taken. I called Ask HR and got my number of days accrued until separation. It is on the last pay check. The severance has to be paid after separation and is by law taxed at 22%. A former co-work, laid off in 2017, said they paid the severance with a week or two, direct deposit. They want to pay the severance out before year end and not carry the expense into 2021.
I don't know about Esurance PTO, only Allstate, sorry!
