The Christmas "elves" memo is belks way of saying they will hire temps until January at Min, Wage, but are not bringing back long term associates on furlough because they are not sure what will happen in 2021.

I don't know about the elves memo, but the recent notice I read the other day pretty much said the store is going to be open longer soon , lunches have been cut and fulfillment is the only thing you really need to focus on. So s— it up buttercup!
A number of furloughed associates have returned, mainly to do fulfillment. We have some new hires too. Everything seems like a clusterf–k in the fulfillment room.
They are hiring people? We are used to running a store with 2 associates. Guess that means hours will be cut.
