I actually just got called back from furlough today. They said I will start Monday but they’re not sure what I’m going to be doing yet........
Google it. Furlough length time limit. Most sites say there is no right or wrong time limit but most say preferably not for more than 1 year. It’s been 4 months for me and I can’t remember what I worked on. Being away from work cleared my mind.
Does anyone know what is the maximum legal limit they can keep you on furlough until you are officially laid off or recalled?
Last I heard it's 12 weeks for manager and 8 weeks for techs...direct xerox people...sooooo you must be a manager?? -:)
I hope I get 12 weeks of severance from Xerox.
Depends on how you look at this. If you are a younger person then I agree that they need to let you know what's going on. If you are someone near retirement (within a year) then this situation is working out in your favor with unemployment for 26 weeks (unless your in Florida at 12 weeks) plus the extra weeks because of a pandemic plus the 600 or 300 extra per month. After the first week furloughed I realized this job and its stresses were basically k–ling me...it's nice sleeping good and feeling great instead of getting home at 7 every night. It answered the question as to whether I am going to enjoy retirement! Of course every ones money situation is different so riding this out to the end with the hopes of 8 weeks severance may not be for everyone
Same here, I know a few people who got furloughed with me got permanently laid off a week or so ago. I’m still on furlough though...wondering if they’re keeping me or I will eventually be let go too.
