Have you been notified about your store closing before you read it in the media? It really wouldn't surprise me for BBB to pull something like that. If you can also tell us if you were offered a chance to transfer to another store and if they're offering you any kind of incentive to stay until the bitter end, that'd be great.

don't think that they will give you 1 week per year of service. I was with them for almost 18 years and they gave 10 weeks. It all depends on your job title.
I believe MIT got up to 16 weeks total.
Full time got up to 10 weeks.
I was a closing store, only some p/t got transferred but they had to know service desk, and some p/t floor help also knew receiving. Everyone else got the boot with retention package if you stay till end.
Heard about our store closing before media. Was offered "incentive/severance" pay if staying til the bitter end; one week per years of service. No option to transfer, nothing in writing.
Why would anyone in their right mind even stay with this nasty company? Get the heck out. Trust me the grass is greener on the other side!
Unless you get it writing it didn't happen!
Don't stay, take care of yourself and get out of there ASAP!!!
No transfer offered and no incentive to stay
Yes, we were told our store was closing before the media announcement on Friday. We do not have anything in writing, but SM said bbb was offering money to those who stayed til the final day. As for transfers, with all the prior layoffs last month, I doubt they will offer transfers.
