Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

30+ CDS in 5 hours

First Sunday after finding out store was closing : hit 30 CDS orders by 4pm. No receiver to process, OPS had to processes all CDS, do payroll, do cash order, run front end and never got an uninterrupted lunch break. Management staff will be burnt out before store closes, if they don't walk off the job first.

we have an A volume store closing in our district soon, so they shifted all of their cds volume onto the other stores

now our D volume store will go from 4 or 5 cds a day to 50+, while the other stores go to 100+

the plan is to hire a couple part timers, but the last 5 people my store tried to hire, 2 of them showed up for a day of orientation, lol

We’re at 55-60 orders a day now, plus huge lists of product to be transferred to neighboring stores pronto. And no one to process them except for me. Saturday is my last day and I don’t know how they’re going to manage, no one at my store knows how to do anything in the back. Everyone has already quit. Oh well.

We definitely don't get as much as some people here but we definitely get too much too handle. Receiver is the only one to do it while being the only receiver.

My store had 200+ drop Sunday. We only had 3 people who could do CDS - the 2 keyholding supervisors, and the only FT there that day. They couldn't even do 90 before having to transition to closing procedure.
Next day had over 300 to process as a result, but every manager was there, so progress was able to be made.

Oh, and my store is still limited by Fedex for pickups. So we'll have to be shut-off before the weekend. I don't see the point of being activated considering the circumstance.

For some of the remaining ft, ops and asm left is their first time they are actually working. Delegating for years and taking advantage of hard working individuals finally caught up to them.
For those who always helped thank you.

We are an A volume store...laid off 3 FT and 2 Asm...told we have to hire over 20 PT...cds orders increasing every day....10-14 pallets a day....damages piling up....sales floor a total disaster...so far 1 ft who was left gave notice. Everyone is in a downhill spiral head first with no safety net!!!!! If there is light at the end of the tunnel I don’t see it.

Lol. My store was like this everyday! What’s a lunch break? We had something like 200 CDS every Sunday

Haha they laid me off and I was in charge of CDS orders, the receiving leads were also let go so the OPS manager is begging me to come back. They got 500 CDS on Saturday and another 300 on Sunday.
