I find it crazy that people troll these message boards for information, and whenever someone put out credible info, they all dismiss it as false etc. obviously not everything posted on here is fact but I was a BBB SM for close to a decade and I posted on here because I cared about the people I worked with and wanted to give people a heads up without risking my livelihood in the process. Thanks for posting that information on this Board SM. It’s a service for the people that listen. The ones that don’t, it is what it is. Why even look on the message board if you’re just going to dismiss any information that you don’t personally want to hear.

This ceo is in over his head. But this was sinking before he ever showed up. End of 2021 is my call. Cash should be used up by than.
Still paying out shareholders! They HAVE TO! If anyone has any basic business knowledge they would know that41
We are hiring. Nobody wants to work here because we don’t pay...give out c-ap hours...and then give people no training.
Last time I'm posting here. I'm the SM that was posting what was going on in stores. I was doing that to give store employees heads up what was coming down the road without getting fired. But I'm done BB&B employees are too toxic on this platform.
I also gave notice today. They made me let go of all my full time employees and just keep part timers plus got rid on 2 of my ASMs. I'm done too many good people let go today. This company is done even if the last to 2021 they won't be recovering. They are loosing too much money, still paying out shareholders, not paying rent/ lease, too many returns and fudging their online numbers.
It is happens..not happen and I have to agree why would a SM post on this board? And yes they should be able to spell and if not just look it up.
I like how someone misspells one word and people jump all over their post to discredit them. People make spelling mistakes happen all the time, it doesn't mean they dont have legitimate points.
Cancel culture at it's best.
The "News Flash" post is hilarious! The company is doing dreadful! To throw out that online sales are double shows you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. Yes they are double but they are double of next to nothing! BBB is absolutely terrible in the Ecomm business, always has been. It's like having a penny then finding another one and boasting how what you currently have to spend has doubled. When I thought I couldn't laugh any harder I read "BBB is starting to function like other big retailers." Wow, first they aren't. Second you cannot include BBB in a "Big Retailer" conversation because they are barely even relevant, nevermind a "Big Retailer".
Anyone can be a SM on this board. Weird they would stop in the middle of the day to post on this little board. Weird they would spell SKEWED incorrectly. Just saying..
Company is not doing bad are you serious? You must be working in corporate and buying the BS they are trying to shovel. This is some emperor's new clothes spin from corporate.
I'm a store manager in what was one of the best BB&B stores in the U.S. In the past 2 months I had to make most of my full timers, part time. I'm in the store everyday and there are literally no customers. Come in during the week we literally make very little money that I'm surprised they haven't shut us down. We can't even cover the monthly lease for the store.Take this past Saturday our busiest day of the week, we had a hand full of customers that whole day. We made a whopping $300 and change that day. And took returns this weekend worth around $1500 from instore and online purchases.
We keep getting online orders for store pick up or curbside pick up and we either dont have the inventory in our store -even though online it says we do. Customers show up to the store to pick up their items and we have to either tell them we dont have it in stock or send them to another store to pick it up. Customer complaints have gone through the roof now since we implemented in store and curbside pickup. We've had so many customers cancel orders or return their orders it's getting out of control. We have a dedicated space in the back bursting with returns. We've been told by corporate not to process online returns because it will look bad right.
I was told today we have to get rid of more of my staff we were already a skeletal crew as is. Many nights it's me closing and one other person.
The numbers are squed to fit corporate narrative. There is no way our online sales are saving this company I wish it would but I just don't see it. I'm in the trenches every day and talk to other stores having the same problems. Keep supporting the emperors new clothes story that corporate is selling and be shocked when BB&B is sold off for sc-aps.
Ever notice so many people on here post they are " working their butts off" but everyone else is lazy? Their co workers..their leads..their SM....corporate. Everyone is lazy except for them. I think people on here must be very young and/or inexperienced. They have not worked other places or taken an ECON class. Everything is wrong with BBB and everything is great everywhere else. Does BBB have a lot of problems? Yes!/ Were they doing poorly before the pandemic? Of course..but so many posters here think they can be a SM or even a CEO,? Your immaturity and naivety is showing.
News flash: the company isn’t doing bad. Yes, traffic is declining but online sales are nearly double and store sales are beating projections (post-covid), with many stores outright comping last years numbers. When you add back in BOPIS sales, the many of stores are outpacing LY. The changes you see the company making are long overdue and not a sign that the end is near. I was skeptical at first, but it’s becoming clearer by the day that the new CEO knows what he’s doing and is executing his plan. Bed Bath is starting to function like some of the other big retailers.
There hiring only PT for stores only. They can replace the FT without benefits, and save $$
And, most FT are lazy and don't dive a sh_t. You get more work out of a PT !!
Retail by nature has always been a high employee turnover Business, but now BBBY has entered a phase where they can’t keep anybody qualified in the lower ranks because there’s no future or career path. Upper management and HR representatives will push the facade of career advancement like crazy to try and s—er good people in, but once inside those hires will quit when reality becomes apparent. Been there, done that!
Each store is supposed to be 60% part timers to 40% full timers
Shareholders care about profit and loss..the bottom line. The number of associates is not relevant to them.
Are you saying replacing full time associates or managers?
It puts a good facade to shareholders we are growing.
We are betting nobody will ever make it into training or be added to headcount unless part timers replacing full time MGT.
Dumping all the higher paid associates.
And aren’t they almost all part time?
Hiring who like crazy? Store associates?? Yeah they do need some people. But they are not high paying jobs!
