Cluster Support, Keyholders, and Specialists Oh My !!

What's going on with this new restructuring? Found out my store's going to be in a cluster and we're going to have a Senior Store Manager. They're hiring a Cluster Support Specialist, and the guy they interviewed doesn't even know what he's really going to be doing. I'm just a lowly SIM, but I've been seeing the signs and someone told me I may have to go to being a "Keyholder" now, and I don't even know what that means? Am i still a manager, and will I go to part-time? I have responsibilities and the worst is the not knowing. I also heard that they're bringing leads back but calling them "Specialists", so are they going to be full-time, and is that what's happening to our Children's lead? I'm really worried for my Assistant Managers, we have two, and I was told we are only going to have one. So is one of them gone, or are they going to another store? I can't ask my manager because she's on vacation, a long vacation, and she probably won't tell me anyway. Please help if you know what's going on.

Anyone NEW coming into your store is BAD NEWS.
RE-INTERVIEWING should more appropriately be called the EXIT INTERVIEW.
There is no way Daunt can make all these huge changes and still keep people making over minimum wage.
Store Managers will soon be replaced as Daunt plans to replace them with Senior Store Managers with his mindset.

I was in a store recently, and it is even more pathetic than ever. One employee was just walking around the store. On a previous visit, I intentionally placed some fiction books in non-fiction, and they are still there! BN literally does not care about anything at this point. The manager that kicked me out last time for not wearing a mask gave me a very nasty look. You could tell she did not want me in her store. They still have the Creme de la Crime table up, which has been there for like 6 months now. Down with BN.

The SIM stuff probably won't happen until after the holidays. I dont think anyone knows what the new positions entail in terms of hours or benefits. Daunt has been extremely disingenuous the entire time. Read the transcript of his conference call. He spends a lot of time talking about how terrible BN is. How amazing his own store, Waterstones, is doing. At one point he states that Waterstones is the only successful bookstore in the world. The ego on this guy...
Im fully expecting more cuts. I think they're purposely obfuscating the nature of these positions but when the time comes, theyre going to make people interview for their jobs. Dont expect anything good from this company, its dead.
