Looks like no contractors will be needed after all!! Contract has been extended!! With the exception of the cost of living raise, everything remains the same. Now California’s contract will expire at the same time as 2 other states!!! All the anti union factions can continue to hate in the shadows for another year!!

Are you giving the union credit for the extension? Or is the union taking credit? The union did'nt do anything but take you money Wise Up!

Admitting that you are a steward in Frontier Communications has to be the second biggest embarrassment behind admitting you work at Frontier Communications. The quality I have seen from techs that work outside is a humiliation to the union brothers I worked with. This company is done and so is the workforce

This time it's different. CA don't go out on strike, you will never come back. you have no leverage.

They had the same ads in ct during last contract negotiations ,trying to scare members into taking a sh–ty contract . Stand in solidarity and don't settle like ct did. We gave up too much

They are planning for a lockout although how can they afford to pay contractors $67.50 per hour and $125.00 per hour for overtime and$100.00 per diem. That's what is on the website.

Not very well planned out, if the company plans a work stoppage then employees will be eligible for unemployment. If a strike occurs, employees can draw out of their 401k under the cares act, and continue to sustain their families. Frontier currently has a CAF build out. This is why they want to extend the contract for a couple months. Employees are at an advantage. Hold out now and reap the benefits in the long run. Contractors couldn’t trouble shoot themselves out of a paper bag!! Most contractors are insurance salesmen with no prior experience. The work will only pile up and employees will return to overtime and an ability to regain their lost incomes.

Wise Up

The employee will file for unemployment, ok so.

The employee is never at an advantage unless you're flying the plane, they're just passengers.

Why would they want to retain current employees for the build out. I've seen contractors placing fiber and maintaining fiber. It would take some level of knowhow, but, again, that's not flying a plane.

You are right about one point, MOST contractors can't troubleshoot, like most current employees and you know it, but there are some that are very good and that's what your union or you is afraid of.

Last, the work will pile up as expected but will level of in a short time, because they will do what their told, and not hear a butch of union babies crying about stupid s*&^, and excuses like i heard in the past.

I’m a union steward and I can assure you all that Frontier doesn’t have any plans for layoffs. Their financial situation has greatly improved since the the sale of the NW territory. Frontier is committed to upgrading their network and negotiating long term contracts with existing employees. Please support your union and keep paying dues. This is your union!

Scabs propping up a sh– company that destroyed a thriving business while paying out $38M in bonuses to executives this year in lieu of meeting employee pension obligations. Frontier is trash, I hope VZ buys it back for pennies on the dollar!

Speaking of Union waste......let's talk about the government waste. Government waste get rid of government Unions (rip off)....should have never been allowed......government unions....no accountabililty, no competition....just decide think what they deserve....no workers allowed and gotten away with it. The rest of us in the private sectors have to deal with our competitors to stay in business.

If the CWA in CA think a work stoppage is in play, they are sadly mistaken. first, too may new and young employees with bills and family, second, does anybody think there's something better for them out there? For every employee there are contractors behind them that will work for 1/2 the price. There are a few good employees there.
