Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

It’s all PR...don’t fall for this “ER” Package....

When I saw the ER offer Like everyone I was disappointed because it didn’t look anything like an ER package. Market ERs usually include 1 year salary and a 401k match. This has neither, it’s a LR package if you want to opt in. This ER exercise is only about saving face. Chuck publicly said he wouldn’t do more lay offs and encouraged his fellow CEOs to avoid it if they can too.

By doing this “Cisco elect program” allows Cisco to do restructuring and keep our word. There probably will still be a forced LR, but this ER offer isn’t enough in this economy If you don’t already have a job to go to or have a passion to pursue.

As mentioned in the Pharrell check in they said Cisco is planning a HUGE social justice PR flood in September....they want YOU to be part of the story. It’s not an accident this PR effort is all during LR season.

Yep, LR heads will have been determined in Feb is my experience. I knew my time was up as my managers attitude changed. Only subtle, but I knew it was coming.

The LR is already solid, names named, numbers planned, projected headcount planned... Please don't believe they will base the LR numbers on the ER acceptance totals, that is not how it works, it's not how Cisco rolls. The LR was laid out long before Covid, obviously. Now, this Fake rollout, offering c-appy ER, "voluntary" leaves, forced 20% CUT IN PAY, oh, wait, hours to spend with family or volunteer INSTEAD OF WORKING and supporting your family financially, yea, that's what they meant. It's all smoke and mirrors to make it look like they are Giving Options, Choices, it's all a game to reduce the total LR numbers and (try to) save face.

I can't seem to figure out the end goal here. Peeve off a lot of your employees and get virtue signalling points? How does any of this raise the stock price? Shouldn't the board of directors start asking that question?
