Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Why aren't we getting our support schedule till 2 days before?

This is absolutely unacceptable! There is no reason for us to be waiting that long to plan our life. We can have a set schedule, markdowns are Mon, Tues, Wed. Make the trucks Thursday (they are lying and telling us they can't change the truck day) why are we getting the trucks Friday on signing days! with half the staff we all need to work on the truck. Then we all have to work on the weekend/every weekend to put the truck out. Shouldn't we already have the merchandise out for the weekend!? How many sales do we miss because of this? And not to mention we're the busiest on the weekend, how is that helping with social distancing and here we are with racks all over the floor looking a mess in the middle of the day. What happened to store ready? Any other stores running this backwards?

The company is just not well run. They throw everything together without any rhyme or reason. Then it’s a mad scramble for hours since they overload. Everything is meant to be confusing and/orburdensome. It’s not organized. It’s just that simple.

“S——s to still have a job at M.” (?). If you’re employed currently, be grateful. All industries are reducing staff or consolidating workforce. Even State jobs! If changes r being made to government jobs, be thankful if you were called back to retail!

Also markdowns have been starting on Sunday lately so if we don’t finish them we do them after signing on Monday.

Our support team has never gotten our schedules until two days before the start of the next week. Our hours were always based on how many trucks we have for the week. It’s a little different now because we have less hours overall as a team. Since we’ve been back from furlough our trucks are on Tuesday’s with Wednesday put away. Even if signing a sale falls on a truck day we have enough support on our team to do both. Signing should not take more than half a day so we can jump on the truck the second half of the day. Especially to help with sensors.
