Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Cisco will come back stronger. Work from home has shown most managers are useless

One of the reasons why Cisco will come back stronger after the layoffs is because this work from home "culture" has proven that you do not need a million managers, a million meetings and a billion PowerPoint slides to accomplish something.

The company will slim down and become stronger. The new CEO is acquiring more software companies so the future is bright. The company just needs to slim down a little bit . Every company goes through this.

Yeah, a 30 min chat once every two months. Really appreciate the mentoring. Oh, and no career talks, EVER.

A 100% WFH model actually raises the need for GOOD managers who know how to keep the business going but also stay engaged and connected with their teams. WFH ought to be more challenging for a manager than sitting in the ivory tower hiding in all sorts of places.

The ELT isn’t exactly filled with rockstars though. I mean, have you seen TN? He has no idea what’s going on. We need technical vision.

** "The company just needs to slim down a little bit ."**
The company has been "slimming down" for the past 12 years and no improvement so far.

I used the term "new" because compared to John Chambers chuck is fairly new on the job. He needs time.
