I've been scheduled a minimum amount of hours. Then all of a sudden....I get asked to work extra hours over this past weekend. We were told that there extra hours for last week , and
this week . Then told you should take the extra time....because the store hours will be cut again!
WHAT is going on????

there is the id–t with "connections" again LOL
Work the extra hours and don’t complain. Most of the time, associates pass on the hours when we have them and then cry when there are None.
I saw this happen moreso in lower volume stores (d and c), where the ONLY full time worker in the whole store is the SM. They started implementing this a year and a half ago, and I quit a little over a year ago. For reference I was with the company fo 6 years before I left.
When I moved, I went from an A volume to a D volume store. I was a top performing ASM and I wanted to step down to supervisor in my A volume store (because of childcare issues), so they let me. But when I moved, the area I moved to ONLY had d and c volume stores within an hour radius. The only position they had open was for part time supervisor with keys.
I went from making 65k a year to making 19 dollars an hour as a part time OPS manager with keys. I ended up quitting after just a few weeks at my D volume store where the SM was an ex DISTRICT manager.
I knew this practice was going to happen to bigger volume stores eventually, the way things were going with upper management and the way things were trending with this company. It got so pathetic to be honest. I knew i had to leave.
My childcare situation improved when I moved, and I ended up landing a job at Target making 75k a year. Now, I'm finishing up school and plan to be an accountant by the end of next spring semester, where I plan to land a job that pays over 100k a year (I have connections in the accounting industry).
For the people out there with all this retail experience.... go apply to Target! They are doing so well right now. Or, apply to Home Depot! Check out their stocks, it makes BBB look so sad.
any business can knock someone down to PT without reason get real and get out while u can and stop b–ching
They can force any full time employees to part time - unless you signed a contract? Reasons not enough work, currently not making any money, if benefit costs are to high, eliminating your full time position and can only offer part time.
How can the force a full timer to go part time?
What’s your position?
I've been a full time employee in the tri-state area for the last 7 years and now they forced me and coworkers to part time. They did not give us any choice. Also told us we dont have enough hours for benefits. So currently looking for full time work else where. I have a feeling this will become the normal sooner rather than later.
I've heard the same..😲
