Is anyone grand fathered in?? Like safe from being let go if they have been with the company for so long?
I don’t understand how they can tell someone they have to go part time when they have always been full time...that the company can’t afford to pay benefits.

No such thing!! A few years ago when they fired most of the department managers and saved a select few, there were people looking out for those that were saved. Those days are long gone. It's dog-eat-dog....unfortunately, you ultimately have to save yourself!!! BBB is an at-will employer!!
Grandfathered isn't a legal term. It's silly to assume that you are immune to being let go simply because of time on the job. This isn't 1950's factory jobs with union reps. It's retail. You can be termed at any time.

I was with the company for 23 years. They laid off all the full time people at my store & closed my location. They don’t care about their people at all.
And if you live or work in an "at will" state, they can let you go at any time, for any reason.Likewise, you can quit at any time, for any reason.
anyone can be let go , cut to PT etc no one is guaranteed anything in a company esp not the BBB family of stores
I've worked at BB&B l HR department for 10 years now and I can tell you there is no such thing as grand fathered in when it comes to any job. You can be demoted, fired or let go for any reason. You can as well quit for whatever reason you choose.
No. I know someone who worked for 20 years was promoted to a regional level then demoted to a store level then let go with not option to move positions.

They don’t care. I’ve been working for the company for about 25 years now and now they are also asking me to step down and become Part Time.
Nobody is grandfathered in as far as I’m led to believe
