Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Think about it!

Those in operations. You have a job that you constantly have to make decisions; then, you have someone always looking over your shoulder questioning your decision and forcing you to justify it. It's like looking at films of a football game by a person who wasn't in the play asking...why didn't you. That is stress! Then, on top of it not a day goes by you worry about your job and the future. Think of the damage they are silently doing to your body day in and day out. Operations = NFL. NOT FOR LONG! Remember you are not getting paid a NFL salary so I question.....is it worth it?

Micromanaging is not necessary, along with egotistical managers feeling empowered that your
paycheck is out of their pocket. I hope someday those that choose the management role will incorporate trusting their associates. However, this lessons the manager worth and job security so expect it till your retire, ent or hopeful lottery ticket

Working at SF is ditch digging of the mind.
Nobody there is really all that smart, that is the root of all the complaints on this board.

Smart enough to avoid physical labor; not smart enough to do anything meaningful.

Be grateful? That's exactly what they want you to think. They want you to be grateful while they lie, steal, cheat and tear apart families. Remember! They give you nothing. You work for it. They need to go back to being grateful for the minions that make their machine run rather than be so ungrateful and rule with an iron fist. Also, respect their customers by not supporting controversial topics and poor marketing.

I am grateful I have a good paying job and never complained about the money, however that is no excuse to have no less than 5 people second guessing every decision you make. They are obviously targeting the people that have been there a long time and know what there doing. I never did understand how all but one of my managers over the past 28 years NEVER did my job but the are managing me.

It’s called customer service. Every insurance company audits calls. Try getting promoted or being grateful. You are able to work from home when a lot of people have to mingle with other people. The lack of gratitude is amazing. It’s everyone’s fault but mine. Blame game.

Economy down.....insurance up. Economy up....insurance down. Watch what happens when Covid goes away and industry gets running. Nobody in their right mind would want to play at the Insurance McDonald's flipping burgers.

My manager is definitely a Monday morning quarterback. They make me question my ability to make good claim decisions and whether making these decisions is really my authority in this job. It's actually not surprising that so many reps struggle to make ANY decisions on these claims, because they'll be harshly criticized for them later on.
