I wouldn’t be surprised if PXD moves to MCO after the right sizing......still have a couple of floors that haven’t even been built out.
The goal is to line the pockets of do nothings! What about getting rid of the glass building and going back to William Square?
To be clear...it's 1.5x salary if let go. That's a great deal.
Just a thought from a non rock licker or Engineer, but 45 years in the Patch globally. It would have been more prudent as Pioneer left the International Basins, the deep and shallow GOM and the other domestic basins that they should have excessed the asset VPs and made cuts within the supporting G&A Departments such as land, reservoir, engineering, HR. Had strategic cuts been made then Pioneer would not have been glutted with so many VP, Directors, and specific asset support personnel. The personnel bloat caused position creep (Directors becoming VPs, then EVPs), need for added office space (HIDDEN VALLEY, 5000 people for stated goal 1 MM BBLS/Day), more company F-150s vehicles (some people have two), higher annual medical costs, more money on bonus and stock. Now it is the 21st century and Pioneer finds itself in an established Permian Basin. Pioneer needs to work smarter with less people, economy of scale and not large multi-story glass castles in the sky Corp. Offices. This is a RESET. - 5x salary is a lot for some of these dudes when Sr staff engrs are getting paid $200k+ a year....on the low end. Sheesh!!! I don’t think most folks realize those guys make $300k+ all in salary/bonus/stock each year. Closer to $350. Don’t feel bad for them.
