Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

thousand eye or not? do we need it? is it worth it?

back then, John chambers at one employee all hands told us all that monitoring/network management software does not make money and why are we still making it? now, we just spent one Billion to acquire thousand eye.. why are we doing it? my amigo at the thousand eye are all eyeing retirement now and glad Cisco spend the $ on them.. I foresee this to be a waste, just like sd wan, appdynamics..

notice thousands eye is actually running out of cash and going to burst, until Cisco spend the $ to save them

Cisco didn't have the talent to create a cloud solution. We are a relationship based company that specializes in PowerPoint presentations and outsourcing jobs.

It was Chambers leadership who k–led critical product, time proves solution components had Total Addressable Market (TAM) - just to call out few -

  • K–led GSLB, Arbor, Web Application Firewall, XML Gateway, DDoS which are still critical for CDN and application hardening.
  • K–led CDA and acquired AMP years ago with more $$.
  • K–led MARS which is Splunk now.
  • K–led ACE LB - F5 and Citrix happily took your sweet pie and partnership with Citrix never went anywhere.

Let’s put all together and zoom out, Cisco had all ammos to form their own cloud and stay ahead of game. Why did CISCO not entered Cloud market with full willingness (not what they k–led) they had and still have money and all what’s needed to scale except serverless component.

Chambers just called it was business decision as THEY were not on No1 or No2 and margins excuses instead of looking forward and investing. SINKING SHIP CULPRIT
