Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Can I volunteer as tribute?

I'd be happy to leave with severance and maybe save somebody else's job in the process.

To get your severance you will have to stick around through all the cuts and keep doing your job. They're doing this this way on purpose. They know a lot of people will quit and find new jobs and they won't have to pay them the severance. There will be no tributes, and no financial compensation for leaving early. The best way to stick it to Allstate is to work hard during this process and if they decide to keep you, find new employment after they have already laid off everyone they were planning. Leave them holding the bag with new adjusters and no experienced ones.

Why not offer vtos. Save jobs for those in need.

Rofl don't you people get it yet?

The assessments and all of this is to keep the people that they can, and -will- drive into the ground.

Voluntary layoffs/retirement encourage most of the people who are street smart to -leave-, because they know they will just get more work for same pay if they stick around.

Probably some good people in that round.

Instead Allsatan is hoping that the people who have some street smarts (but not quite enough) will stick around instead of finding new employment.

This whole thing is an arrangement to make sure All$tate squeezes every last drop out of their employee's blood and souls.

The only thing that will fix this is for Glen Shapiro to resign, and the only way to do that is if we strike and/or quit en-masse.

Voluntary layoffs and retirements in lieu of layoffs is a big no no with Allstate now. They offered it years ago and too many people took it putting them in a major bind. They said never again to that.

You can’t (serious), last time they did layoffs someone on my team tried that and they told him that he can quit anytime he wants
