Shame on the management - this could have been avoided.

My heart goes out to all of the AT associates. Definitely a way for the big wigs to line their pockets more. Guess moving revenue cycle to R1 wasn’t enough of a disaster. Those people in India can’t process a claim to save their lives. Hope the execs enjoyed their big a– bonuses. Worker bees 🐝 got nothing but layoffs and stress. Good luck to everyone
@3inj+16pHVfLY - Worker bees get 1 week of pay and benefits for every year of service up to a maximum of 18 weeks, leadership gets 2 weeks for every year of service, and directors and above get 3 weeks for every year of service. The minimum is 4 weeks of continued pay and benefits for people with less than 4 years of service. There are also training benefits available, outplacement services, etc. Better than some places I guess but it's still disappointing that a "Christian organization" is doing this to their workforce; Ascension values for you...
What is the severance package? Curious because I'm guessing other jobs will be cut in the near future.
@2kry+16pHVfLY - In case you missed it, we're in the middle of a worldwide pandemic and unemployment is 10% in the US. Might have something to do with the fact that there's no walk off.
Application teams in Products are next. The purpose of the reorg in 2018 was to make it easier to outsource the responsibilities. Being a 'national' team was the first step. They admitted on the call Friday that they have been working on this outsourcing plan for a few years.
I just wonder who is next at AT? RAD team? Very backwards for them to create RTO positions to have massive layoffs 11 months later.
Surprised not a big walk off of employees saying F U and leave right now
While it has been a good company to work for, the past several years have been chaotic and directionless.
If you are still employed here and aren’t looking elsewhere, you are more than likely making a grave mistake career wise.
When you say that you outsource because you don’t have the talent to be innovative, you are telling every employee they don’t have what it takes. This starts at the top and they didn’t own it.
Personally I already have interviews lined up and I wasn’t part of the restructure.
I wish the best to all that was affected.
This is all part of the restructuring plan they started in 2018, and it is not over yet. The writing has been on the wall about the SD outsourcing for over a year. The Gsuite move was all about saving money and selling EMR data to Google so they can get in to the EMR business and compete with Cerner and Epic. After 2018 when they brought the priest on the all hands call and he said it was God's will. You knew the Ascension values did not mean anything to leadership.
Management have no idea what they want. ..Outsourcing to HCL service desk and server monitoring is bad idea ..looks like nobody care about HIPAA and patient security anymore.
all ascension calls are going INDIA ...good luck with that.
Ascension outsourced most of its IT to CSC in 2005. Then reneged on that contract in 2010 because they weren't happy with CSC's service. You would think they'd have learned a lesson then...
Switching to Gsuite from MS O365, which 99.99999% of the rest of the business world uses, should have been our sign.
I like Gsuite, though.
Easier for them to perform blanket layoffs than to admit poor leadership and bad decisions. At least we don't have to use Gsuite anymore.
