Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

September noise for XBS

Going to be some changes in XBS next month. Directors, TSM and hardware techs moving over to Xerox. Oh but it's not for everyone, going to be some techs layed off as the max techs per territory will mix with existing Xerox techs. Core sales reps will lose that local support they've been used too. Techs won't be assisting your installs or supplies, strictly hardware calls. This will be interesting to see unfold.

If you have not heard about it yet, and have not been told to expect an offer letter then i would not expect one when the cores are dissolved next week.

Zeno uses techs for installs, no analysts exist and we are in for a hurting next month if this is true.

We have analyst going onsite for installs all the time (have been for months now). After all, they wear mask and gloves so what could go wrong...

all about the $$$ with the folks at the top; they can spout the "our employees safety comes first" BS all they want, but none of us believe it. We know we don't come 1st, or 2nd or third or at all.

What’s it like working at XBS now? I left industry about a year ago, can’t imagine being a sales rep these days. Do you still have to cold call or is that frowned upon for Covid spread? Are people actually buying copiers right now?

@1jgq+16oVMwvi Some are rigger installed. Some are customer installed plug and play. The customer can pay for an install if it would otherwise be a customer installable device. The strategy has been no touch in the past. Plug and play. As you go higher in the portfolio that’s not as simple as it sounds so eh&s would require a no customer install.

The riggers setup the printer
The analyst sets up the IT

So who does the install? Or do they just ship the printer and have the customer set it up on their own? That doesn't seem like good customer service. What if customer isn't IT savy?

Wondering how this will affect the techs calling in for the world class support the new tech powerhouse created?
Thankfully we at least have that.

Truth, it's been planned for over a year. Originally supposed to happen in June. What XBS had service help with installs?? That was a direct thing, not XBS. Not much change, not much news. Actually should help with coverage, parts coverage, and accountability depending on the core. A lot is lost or covered up locally. At least at our core.

All FSL's will be converted to Xerox direct.

Direct techs don't work on non Xerox... Unless their organization has been transfered to a core. Xerox direct Hawaii was transfered to MRC and now works on Lexmark.

I have a question for xerox techs. Do they work on printers such as hp etc or only xerox products. Just wondering how safe I’ll be. I work at an XBS Core and handle printers and smaller xerox products

This was planned for last year but got bumped since they needed the new systems in place to do it. So if not 100% true there is clearly a kernel of truth here.

This has to be true. I heard this from a manager months ago.

True. My TSM has been talking about it for months. It was supposed to happen in June but it was postponed because of Covid.
