Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

I'm a Pro Specialist, let me get this Right?

Besides the pro desk overload, now I have to build Shower doors? estimate water heater installs?

Figure out how to charge and build blinds and shades? Cabinets too?

And millwork SOS doors etc? which are a Nightmare of issues?

Go on disaster delivers for upset customers,

Drive out on a Saturday afternoon to another store 45mins away because the PSE forgot to include a part that is holding the job up.

Oh ya, estimate 2500 sq ft custom tile jobs with NO ERRORS? "that's a good one"

Unload trucks on Sunday because 2 loaders normally quit or just don't show up?

work the Lumber Register 6am to 9am Monday, Tuesday almost all day Friday?

Cut Lumber, LUG in Lumber Carts, They quit weekly.

And best of all_____________daily dealing with Regular Insults and desending remarks of my ASM threatening "DOCUMENTATION" Daily. when something does not get done right.

As per the US Dept of Labor, it's illegal to threaten you of termination. They just have to fire you.

And maintain 1250.00 per day in sales or ELSE!

THIS IS THE FUTURE OF LOWES.

You can KEEP IT!

Good Luck I'll be Watching

Im a pss in ny and boy does it just sukk bad. corp empty suits pop in weekly, sometimes 2x a week, and all they do is complain and demand more when we lead district and k–l every metric including cc apps by like +300%.

never a "good job", nothing. we won last 3 contests for pro in district and we never got pizza parties that were promised.

lowes is 100% lies and c-ap.

You are going to be replacing the specialists and pros that are going to be let go next week. At least you still have a job for now.

Haha if you’re being held accountable and threatened with documentation because as you say “you’re not doing things right on a daily basis” that’s your own fault. Sounds like someone needs a hug.

Sadly it just keeps getting more and more surreal with each passing day. Zero chance in Hades you can do a quality job anymore in a moderate to high volume store. Huge disconnect between our stock price and what is happening on the ground within the stores. Really think had it not been for the pandemic Lowe's quarterly sales would circling the toilet bowl right now. Our out of stocks are not limited to appliances (which in our XDT market started early Q4 2019) and are clearly visible throughout the entire store. Add in all the 3rd party delivery and XDT issues and you now have an unending stream of customer complaints.

Most of the employees that I know (myself included) are looking for the exit doors but are only staying on due to the depressed job market. Suspect the "new" sales specialist incentive program is corporate's way of attempting to use the equivalent of the "Jedi Mind Trick" to convince us to stay on but with our extensive out of stocks it is difficult to even hit plan let alone exceed it by 150% (which is only one of the requirements for max payout). And even if you manage to achieve a higher payout in any given month this year the monthly budget for next year will likely use that as the new baseline so if anyone thinks they can maintain a 50% sales growth year over year is delusional especially when the stores are lucky to maintain even single digit sales growth.

I was a PSS until mid-May. Tired of it all.

Retired. Read posts here to keep up with what crazy ideas corporate dreams up next.

My pro sales numbers were great, but there's no way I would want to be part of this and keep my client base happy. It was bad enough trying to design decks and have to teach DIY retired guys with no experience how to build one.

I might be joining you next week. I just told an ASM to buy a 3D printer for the store so that we can make appliances on site! Take care of the customer! Don't sell displays! Don't let the customer go to our competition! Don't sell into the negative!
We can't get most SOS items for months! Some SOS Bosch dishwashers may not even be available until next year! We still have customers waiting for items they bought during the July 4th sale! This place is just a sh*thole. The website is still showing 3-7 days lead time for most products that we can't get. I'm just tired of arguing with the customers- "oh you promised delivery within two weeks!" No, I didn't!! The computer ESTIMATED a 14-day lead time BUT I EXPLAINED to you the MOST orders are taking much longer than that, and you stated that you would wait!! I had a customer drop the f word as soon as I answered the phone two days ago. I requested him to be respectful and give me a chance to understand his issue so that I could assist him sort it out. Two more f's within 30 seconds! I politely explained to him that our conversation was over, and 'click'. Why are people so angry??
