Hal layoffs
I remember when my manager had the audacity to mention to me that I should work harder to improve Halliburton stock. He held a sizable position and assumed that I did too. Ha! Why would I hold the stock of a company going nowhere? I fully participated in the stock purchase program, but made sure to do a market sell ASAP to lock in my gains. Two years ago the stock was $41. Now look at it: $15. Anybody surprised by this is an absolute fool.
Halliburton has always been a trash company with incompetent leaders. Any conservative id–t who thinks oil and gas is the way of the future deserves all of the pain and suffering that comes with believing in a dying industry. There are so many fools that are ignoring the growth in renewables, electric, wind, etc. All of you that think fracking and drilling is a viable long-term solution will fade away into obscurity, and rightly so.
I initiated my plan to leave this complete garbage company years ago. When I got laid off, it was a dream come true: I got paid to leave! Things could not have worked out any better for me. It took years, but my preparation paid off. I am now out of the oil and gas industry and working at a much better company, with much smarter people, and best of all making more money.
I don’t feel sorry for any of you that had faith in Halliburton. You should have been preparing to get out the day you accepted the offer to work there. And if you are still at that hellhole 3000 N Sam Houston Pkwy, you should not consider yourself lucky. You should be trying to get out ASAP. Believe me, life is so much better outside. Peace!
