Earnings call in about 7 hours.
I’m betting they announce nothing. Maybe an ER internally at the same time.
I also expect a footnote on page 328 of a “Covid-19 related restructuring charge”.
About, oh, let’s say $1B dollars.
Then there is the yearly bonus.
I’m thinking they would like to only pay half, and they’ve already paid 25%, so another 25%
Makes the CPF to be 0.5.
ER will be first followed by LR right after US Thanksgiving holiday.
The Webex house needs a deep cleaning. Top to bottom.
"Then on the morrow you shall receive your purification... "
As Tom Petty (RIP) sang, "the waiting is the hardest part".
1 week from today young grasshopper. Cisco check in will shed light on things.
Hope they get me. I’m tired
It is funny how there are so many usual LR dates.
Usually, they give notice in sep end after giving out bonus. October end will be final date.
I have heard no LR till Q2. I keep hearing about ER, but I am beginning to doubt it.
I've heard from multiple managers and directors that there is no LR coming to their knowledge.
Of course it will happen at some point, but not now. End FY year is kind of the "tradition" we are used to, and this year it may even sound logical, but there is no such factual information as of now.
Of course this can all change in just one single day.
It’s so great not being there anymore and not needing to worry about it.

Since we're all guessing here... My bet is that they are moving the LR to match with going back to the office for the US. "No LR during covid"
I am redbadge in CX and my company asked me to take a 15% rate cut 4 weeks ago. I declined. Got laid off 7/24. Yesterday saw an ad from that same company looking to fill a role I held.
That brought up a couple of thoughts.
First, I've been on a team that had LR's and been LR'd and within weeks of the LR, I would have recruiters contacting me about positions I'm a perfect fit for that were roles on my team. Why some dumbnuts recruiter would think an employee would quit to take a contract role is beyond me. And when it was my role, it was fun agreeing with them about how perfect I was for that role considering it was mine a week or two prior.
Secondly, I wonder where the 15% put cut was being pushed from? Cisco or your vendor? If the vendor is losing roles at Cisco or other clients, they may be hurting for revenues and want/need to steal a bigger cut of your pay. It would surprise me if it's coming from Cisco because once a bill rate is established, it never changes. I know guys who've been at Cisco for 5+ years as a vendor and have never received a cost-of-living increase, much less a promotion/raise, yet their responsibilities have grown over the years. If Cisco can't/won't increase their pay, why should Cisco be able to cut it?
When a client company I was a vendor at, a LONG time ago, decided to get rid of having multiple "prime" vendors and switch to a "sole vendor" situation, the vendor that won the contract as sole vendor had promised to reduce the client's costs (bill rates) by taking a smaller cut of the bill rate in return for doubling, tripling, or quadrupling the number of vendors they were providing under the assumption that a smaller cut of more people was better than a larger cut of fewer people. Turns out, they doubled or tripled their number of vendors, but kept the same cut and instead cut the vendors wages from 10-30% depending on what the vendor's specific bill rates were. Most of the highly paid vendors facing a 20-30% cut left immediately. I took the 15% put cut for 3 weeks while I looked for a new role and gave my 2 weeks notice. That poor client got stuck with a bunch of vendors who had very little experience or competence as the vendor struggled to fill all the roles that suddenly became vacant.
When will companies learn that they get what they pay for?
YOU GUYS ARE SO FULL OF IT! Bloodbath my ***. you clowns have no idea what your talking about. Just keep slinging mud. I bet your not even Cisco employees.

Smart move by CX. They will have the same level of productivity but I'm concerned about the reduction in powerpoints.
I heard they are going to LR 99.99% of red badge staff, there will be just 1 guy left in CX to do all the work.
A friend of a manager thinks he overheard at the (closed) office that someone who knows trump may be laid off? Do you doubt it? Nah.
A manager said he heard that 20% of the company will be laid off. Do you doubt it?
When I was LR'd in the past, everyone still had their laptop and badges for 30 days. Plenty of time to make backups of anything local to your laptop...
Good luck. Over the last six months, they have considerably tightened access restrictions and the amount of scanning and compliance activity on your devices.
For example, they have tightened access to TAC systems, Cisco Docs and the CPOL patents systems. If you notice they have also changed the logon message to warn they are now monitoring your system for “compliance” to policy.
I’m told that there is a real argument going on in HR about just how aggressive they should be with scanning for “non-compliant” content. The problem is with the European data privacy laws. If you haven’t told employees you will scan their data for racism and s-xism, then it’s forbidden to do that.
Lol

Yes you can, CA law only applies to CA workers....other states working for CA company can get screwed royally. If you live in a lower cost, at will to work state, like TX you can be shown the door in seconds, phone contacts and email contacts grabbed, etc.
If so, why does Cisco give the same standard package to all U.S. employees that matches the CA requirements?
When I was LR'd in the past, everyone still had their laptop and badges for 30 days. Plenty of time to make backups of anything local to your laptop, but don't try copying source code as that raises flags. I've learned to keep contacts and certain emails backed up to either disk or in the cloud as part of another account so that in the event I'm ever suddenly shown the door, I have my copies.
All just rumors...
Stop with this madness, I just peed on myself reading this thread.

You better have backup (at home) on independent server.
Says the guy posting information supposedly covered by an NDA on a social media site.
You can't have a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) in violation of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act of 1988 (WARN) or in violation of the California WARN Act. Cisco is headquartered in CA, so that state law applies in addition to the Federal law.
Nice try at stirring up false rumors.
ER this week. LR in Q2.
We hear this 8k number every quarter. Never gets old.
I DON'T think you can quietly LR 8k people. We would be wading in blood. You must be VERY high in the chain to know that much of the carnage.
