Anyone else notice that after October it will end? Seems like a way they are phasing out The winning together Bonus without causing a uproar of unhappy associates. THOUGHTS...???

This is how Lowe's intends to get back some of that "free money" they have been handing out during the pandemic. Last month we exceeded our sales goal by 30% and still did not qualify for a dime of bonus. Now our good sales efforts are going to make it possible for the rest of the employees to make a quarterly bonus, while get c-apped on. How is this fair. Now would be a good time to shop around for better employment opportunities. Lowe's has sold us out with this smoke and mirrors "bonus plan". Very disapointed in Uncle Marvin. Good Bye Lowe's!
pay for performance is ALWAYS the superior form of compensation. Commissions/spiffs were the way to go despite some of the flaws mentioned. The program should have been formatted to include CSA's in some way. My complaint with this is it is still very likely that even with hitting these parameters with some regularity we still will make less than we have been making over the years. We will see on the 11th i guess.
Waiting to see the "fine print" on this new incentive plan. Have zero doubt it will contain a list of dis-qualifiers and the equivalent of "terms subject to change or termination" at the whim of the company. As a long time sales associate/specialist that was under the "original" sales incentive plan (SPIFFS/commissions + department bonuses) I can attest that there absolutely was money to be made if you were a hard worker. It also was not limited to sales specialists. However, for those of you that never lived it or may have forgotten, it also often brought out some rather distasteful behaviors in some sales associates. Stolen sales, trying to grab every customer that walks in or only the ones looking at the expensive items (while ignoring the low ticket item shoppers or the ones that were just looking but with lots of questions), talking customers into things that were not in their best interest only to maximize payout, etc, etc, etc.
Also remember that Lowe's has pulled the carpet out from under us in the past and their motivation for providing this is not because they have suddenly found enlightenment or developed some great humanitarian interest in their associates. Mark my words this is going to breed some real discontent between the department CSAs and the Specialists since they will be excluded. Be very careful what you wish for.
Touched a nerve, even with bad spelling. that is effective writing.
Wow what a great argument and come back. How “munch” did you make last year? I made with bonuses 71k plus surpassed 540k in 401k. Not bad for a housewife imo. Typical s-xist comment by the way from someone who can’t spell or put together an actual sentence. Also here you are working at Lowe’s probably making 24k a year because you are not good at anything. Keep it up you’ll be a 40 year old loader before you know it.
The specalist bonus was alreay plannes beforw clovid
Yes after reading the post I probably need to read a book or two,but my point being if the incentives pay to munch they are usually stop. If not why did lowes have all those different incentives. People who spend 18 years in retail are usually housewife's who need the money or loser that cannot get a better job.
To the person who cannot spell or complete an actual sentence. Been with the company 18 years. Out of those 18 years 10 of those years we had spiffs, specialist bonuses, and department manager bonuses. Which would result in to 40 quarters of incentives. That would happen to be 38 more quarters then you are suggesting so you must not have been around retail long. Fyi, Reading a book or two will help with your grammar.
The company is one of the few that is prospering in the current environment. I think they will keep some type of incentive programs like this in place, at least for the foreseeable future.
They can not keep specialist in many stores, they work you to death and even if the money good you think it not worth. if the program is successful the will change it so you only make a little money. I never seen a company give good incentives more than 2 quarters in row. and this incentive is to keep people though the covid crisis . Then they will make numbers to high to meet and end the program spring of next year
They've forecasted an immense sales drop off and use this carrot on a stick approach to keep specialist pushing the programs. Going to be impossible for them to achieve with whats coming this fall/winter. Very smart people in the corporate offices and a lot of them know how to play the psychological game in terms of problem, reaction, solution. Hegelian dialectic.
They are going to keep it going its not going to end
I feel that corporate knows that we’re in store for a huge drop off in sales eventuality. I seems counterintuitive that they would add a large expenditure like specialist bonuses without paying for it with some other cuts in the store.
