I’m the only full time/lead associate in our camping department. Just had a meeting with what’s left of our managers. Our new store manager just went over how we will be having to take over new responsibilities because the company is slowing down hiring and having to help run other departments. The scariest part was hearing how the company isn’t going to fully supply stores until next summer.

That sounds like most stores I know of already. That might be a change for some of the bigger stores though. As for stock, I don’t see it so much as choosing not to fully stock us as them not being able to fully stock us based on manufacturing slowing down and supplies not as easily available from other countries. The situation seems pretty similar to a lot of other companies.
Most departments in our store only have 1 lead and the lead is usually the only full time employee in that department. Exception to that is hunting and fishing.
