Well it's a nice thought, but I think they should at least still be paying the extra $2 an hour. The risk has not gone down in fact it has gone up.
What about the Salaried associates that work 12 hr shifts with the hourly associates on the front lines? How about PSE's that are out all day at people's homes being pushed to sell during times of hardship for a lot of people? Working the same amount of hours, if not more. No temp hourly increase. No extra vacation time. Must be nice for upper management to get big fat bonuses on the backs of ALL the hard working employees.
Employers have a legal, social and moral obligation to provide a safe working environment for their employees. As an "essential business" during an global pandemic that bar should be set even higher. The tone deaf choir of individuals saying "if you don't like it leave" does not absolve the business from this obligation. Personally I would gladly give up that hazard pay to have hired security at the stores enforcing our stated "mandatory" mask policy. Without actual enforcement it is nothing more than a suggestion.
PS. For any of you COVID-19 deniers and/or trivializers out there be advised that COVID-19 is now the third leading cause of death in the United States behind only heart disease and cancer.
Yes they will pay the bills because somehow Lowe’s is not the mask police. Also, nobody is making you go to work. That is your choice as a grown up. It’s called adulting
Will they pay my hospital bills when I get Covid because they wont enforce masks, esp with the employees?
The company has been super generous. Between extra bonuses like this. Huge winning together payments. $2 an hour more back in April. More time off for people who need it. Let’s see all the haters on here try to make this a bad thing.
