disney is the worst company
Tens of thousands of employees, just at Walt Disney World, are still furloughed.
In the next several weeks, most likely widespread layoffs and early retirements at Walt Disney World and Disneyland are coming. This will involve tens of thousands of people. The company's fiscal year ends on September 30 and they will not want to carry furloughed employees (getting paid insurance coverage) into the new fiscal year. In this way, they can take the financial write-offs associated with all these separations before the new fiscal year starts. This is the best business solution awaiting them and will impact the stock price the least moving forward.
The Studio has been bringing people back for a couple of weeks. That doesn't necessarily mean anything for Parks, but it's a start.
Most people are still furloughed .. soon to be fired
There are over 25,000 still on furlough that work with Disney in Central Florida... just look at the local news articles with all the union numbers still furloughed. Plus, there are hundreds of cast members that are still furloughed that are not union members.
It's a horrible situation... so many will soon be in dire straits, unless WDW looks to the future and it's 50th Anniversary in 2021.
We will be living on the streets in a month or so.
I'm not surprised .I see it coming been here 30 yrs.
How many people at WDW are still on furlough? I thought most returned by now with the reopening.
