Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Layoffs in customer org

While e commerce is growing within walmart, all the people who supported it are let go. The entire analytics that supported ecommerce is being laid off for no obvious reason. Just because leadership changes, letting people at ground level go is not a good sign for growth of the company.

I heard it was several thousand people just in Bentonville. That’s doesn’t count the dotcom offices.

They’ll never give us the real number. But it was a big one. Had many friends Impacted.

Bloomberg reported "hundreds" but they probably needed to be conservative as the company refuses to disclose any numbers. I'm hearing well more than 1,000

The news is reporting affected people will be paid thru January. That seems nice. What about bonus?

I'm my area almost my entire team was let go including myself in merchandising Analytics but it doesn't look like all areas were affected the same.

Most reports I've seen have said "hundreds" are being affected. If it is only hundreds and with 14k working in the Bentonville umbrella, it'll likely be under 5%. Could certainly hit 40% in certain areas. Hope it isn't 40% of the whole HO.

It's gone as high as D-suite in some areas. Bloomberg reported that Furner will address it this afternoon, we'll see.

My husband was just laid off, and he is a project manager in private brands. This is happening in all departments across the board. We've heard it could be up to 40% of the Walmart Home Office employees, and if this is true that will really impact NWA economically!

HR, real estate, ecommerce, others. Hundreds and it is being done in a way to not have to notice the local community and be subject to press scrutiny. Could be multiple waves.
