Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Pto

Anyone’s regional leader advised you must schedule future pto days due to the end of heat approaching? And only want people to have 5 days left remaining.

Yes also. They are not disclosing knowledge and only care about end of year staffing. This company amazes me but shouldn’t when I see the r—d brain trust running it.

Sorry no offense meant to developmentally disabled: u could run this company better sincerely.

Yes, got the same spiel. Clearly an organized communication. Personally, I'm not going to take anymore PTO until I know what's going on.

I'll either get an assessment next week, outright laid off or no impact. I honestly have know idea what will happen.

Considering the company makes you earn your PTO days through the year they only have to pay you out what you earn up to the point of a layoff final day this would not benefit the company all that much. Plus these PTO communications are pretty regular around this point and especially now with the mass WFH.

Also you want to be careful how many days of PTO you use as if you use more than you earn up to your lay off date then the company can charge you for any days used beyond what you have earned and they will take those days out of your severance.

My team was told with the majority of the company working from home, employees submitting time cards for PTO is way down. A decision had been made to advise all employees to calendar out all but 5 days so that you don’t lose any of your PTO days. The company will not allow you to carry over more than 5 days. That’s why they said to calendar out all but 5. This is nothing new, but because of the circumstances with WFH, it was being re-communicated.

our manager said if you are concerned about being laid off don't take PTO, but if you end up staying you might lose a few days if you can't take them all, of course if you are in a few different states you are safe.

Yup another strategy to limit you from taking all your days when you find out you’re canned. Of course the narrative was positioned differently “we want to ensure there’s enough coverage to serve the customer”. Funny wasn’t asked about scheduling vacation the past several years.
