Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Thanksgiving off?

Mark Triton needs to get out of his house and get to the office
If Bed Bath is closed on Thanksgiving it’ll be because
1) We can’t get enough staff hired to handle the business.
2) We can’t get our people and customers to socially distance now with slow shopping times. There’s no way to enforce it with crowds.
3). We don’t have enough space at the front end to space out the registers. We don’t have self check out. The checkout will be bunched up or trailing down soft side. It’ll be a mess.
4). Bed bath doesn’t have enough product in the buildings to take care of our customers now. They have to start paying the bills and refilling the stores.
5). Can you imagine the amount of time it would take to properly sanitize... it seems ridiculous.

His covid update from last fri says hes giving us off Thanksgiving, we deserve time with our families because we've worked so hard..please...more like if we didnt close, it would be more bad press. So hes following suit of our retail competitors.

I think Black Friday is a bigger issue than being open for a few hours Thanksgiving evening.

LOL sanitize, we haven’t sanitized anything at our store in weeks. Mgmt wants us to do projects like move the little product we have from one end of the store to another and back instead.
