Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Several people impacted in HR and people area

Several associates lost their jobs today.
This reflect other side of Walmart and how they supports associates and their families at this time.
Executives talk on TV and advertise on newspapers about hiring and giving bonus to associates .
On the other side they lay off people.

Do you all realize that corporations around the globe call you in an office, or send you a letter and tell you that you are fired with no severance package at all? Walmart has always taken the very high road on it's lay offs. For them to pay someone thru January is utterly ridiculous. And to Cesspool: If your life has got so much better since leaving Walmart why are you coming back to this page? Seems like you would be too busy being happy.

I was laid off today (Mengs Org) as well and can confirm the package information posted above. While generous I would still prefer to have made the cut and continue in my role; but grateful as hell I didn’t just get cut and handed an old tuna fish sandwich for my trouble.

Who is getting a $428.00 bonus? This must be a Corporate level thing – cause at the Store Associate level it's $150– $300.

I am so happy I don’t have to work for that cesspool corporate organization anymore. It has become a revolving door. F... WALMART

What's reason for layoff? Sales are bad?
If company is in tight position how they can pay $428 as extra bonus?

I wouldn't mind 6 months of pay with no work during these times...

Yes, people were laid off but the packages were exceptionally generous. Everyone stays on the payroll until Jan 31st. That’s six months and unheard of. And because they’re all on the payroll until Jan 31st they’re all eligible for their bonuses.

That’s their strategy. Drowned out the negative news with positive. I feel for the associates that were impacted.
