Thread regarding Emerson Electric Co. layoffs

RAS selling off Zeki after disastrous acquisition?

Little bird in the investment banking community tipped off that Emerson is putting out feelers to ascertain what salvage value they would get if they sell Zedi which does not fit into Emerson hardware business and had been managed disastrously by Pedro D’Ascola and his merry men including AB. There’s hope for Zedi and it’s employees if that really happens. Emerson is evaluating getting rid of assets that are non-performing and a drain on cash and Zedi is high on the list. If the divestiture did not materialize, there will be another round of layoffs at RAS.

Yep. Agreed. They destroyed ESI, Geofields and Zedi. All great companies prior to Emerson acquisition.

RAS has a history of destroying companies after they acquire it.

Doesn’t matter what Emerson buys. They will destroy value after they acquire companies.

in the first place, buying zedi was a wrong move. zedi customers are mainly canadian producers and some small producers in the US. it's a 3rd tier scada company. emerson is the su*ker who paid top dollars for a 3rd tier company. larry who runs zedi is a 3rd tier leader, in the same mole as pedro. so, this acquisition was doomed from the very beginning.

I knew it some time ago that there is no future in RAS. That’s why I left. The leadership team including Pedro, Brian, Aaron, Russ, a bunch of idots. But Pedro has to take full responsibility for the sht because he is no leader at all. He is so nervous, so unsure of himself, so disliked by all and sundry except his leadership team. That’s the quality of Emerson leadership, sc-apping at the bottom of the barrel.

In the first place, RAS is a stepchild in PSS, made worse by no leadership, whether it is Pedro or Brian or AB. Better for RAS employees to move to another business unit.

Ok, let’s be clear. Pedro can’t do squat.

Yes, ESI WAS exceptional performer and I emphasize WAS as it Is starting to go downhill since Pedro took over running it in July. Sad for the poor ESI employees. Very soon, ESI will also suffer in performance and then the lay-off begins after that.

These stories are pure rumors. What happened to the one about Pedro being fired. I actually don’t want Pedro fired because Brian LaMothe will get promoted and he gives even less of a sh– about employees.

Also the business makes 50% profit. Why in the hell is it not acceptable to eat some of that profit to sustain the business during a downturn. RAS is already running on a skeleton crew on the NA side. The amount of work that is required by marketing for new products will not get done for at least a decade with the amount of engineering that is left. Lay off more and might as well close the f—ing business down.

And good luck switching resources to India and Romania. That hasn’t worked and will not work for this company.

Finally, why in the f— are there new hires in Houston, given how terrible things are. Way to be consistent and show that to the burned out, and fearful employees left. Sh– company if I’ve ever seen one. Good luck everyone.

Paradigm and Zedi are poor performers while ESI is a superb performer and growing rapidly. Interesting to see whether Paradigm and Zedi will bring down ESI or ESI will pull them up.

I don’t know whether this will happen. What is confirmed is Paradigm will move from FLOW to S&S or PSS under Jim. Paradigm laid off 50% of its employees. Maybe they will combine Paradigm, Zedi and ESI together.

Zedi already went through two rounds of layoffs since joining Emerson a year ago. Never-ending saga of layoffs. That's so Emerson.

Emerson acquires companies to milk it. They don't know how to grow companies after they acquire them. It's POR forecast that they emphasize every month, every week, every day. Zedi was a wrong acquisition anyway, in the first place. The shareholders of Zedi had a great payout, thanks to Emerson. There is always a s—er in this world who would pay 150M for a 30M revenue company that is losing money.

Why am I not surprised? Pedro has no experience is successfully managing a business.
