Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Told to get credit apps and surveys or iwill be written up

I'm a pro loader and my supervisor told me today that I need 1 pro app and survey weekly or my job is in jeopardy and will be written up. Is this wrong?

I would speak with your Asm. Others are right, it’s not in your job description to get credit cards. Lowe’s wants pro loaders under the lumber canopy ready to load orders for contractors.

You cant force someone to make another person open a bank account. You can ask, but otherwise that is extortion and coercion. They cant write you up if the customer refuses. Banking is federally protected.

I refuse to wh–e for surveys. However, as an appliance specialist, I have been told that we are expected to maintain a 40% EPP/LPP close rate and average 5 LCC apps per week. The 40% protection plan close rate in my location is a pipe dream as we have a lot of contractor sales, people on low income and many with home protection plans already.

As for the LCC apps, we have been seeing an increasing number that when you get most of the way through the process something happens; either a decline (in some cases after even receiving a quick screen approval), a prompt for an authorization code, or more common the temp card doesn't print. These end up necessitating a call to the credit center to resolve. What should have been a 10 minute process quickly turns into a 30+ minute black hole. Meanwhile other customers that have been observing all of this and waiting to be served are growing impatient and in many cases simply walk out (i.e., lost sale due to trying to score a LCC account). I have told my sales manager that I could easily get the 5 LCC apps per week but it would come with a consequence of other things not getting done and/or lost sales elsewhere. Lowe's loves to hold the associates feet to the fire but consistently fails to provide the necessary resources for us to excel. As far as I am concerned they can write me up as I am not going to stress over it, especially after my latest 20+% pay cut that occurred at the beginning of the 2020 fiscal year.

i refuse to beg customers for surveys....those who feel the service provided was exceptional enough to warrant a comment will do so without provocation .
