I heard of an old SM going into one of the affected closing stores within hours to try to recruit the staff to new retailer.
Is this true? Anyone else who left trying to help out those affected my closings?

The SM who recruited his old co-workers did right by them. I heard from the store it was more like he was in the store 20 minutes after the news broke. LOL
Who’s promoting ASM’s to SM’s right out the gate??? Like the sound of that. I got offered an SM role with BBBY in 2015 (which I turned down due to it being 4 states north with zero relocation assistance) and never got another chance even though I ran circles around my last 3 managers post offer including the current sloth 🦥 😆

Yup. I left a year before layoffs happened, and the second I heard about the layoffs, I called 5 ex coworkers that got laid off and got 3 of them hired at my company. Full time, getting more $$$ per hour. This is why it helps to be good to your coworkers and to keep in touch with ex coworkers.
Yes! Our old ASM went to a different retailer as a SM and is hiring all of us that got let go, not full time benefits but better pay and full time hours!
