Thread regarding Pratt and Whitney layoffs

I have it in with a VP and people in HR these are the numbers.

5000 is the confirmed total reduction at Pratt CE, its about 17% of the workforce and includes the VSP and contractors and moving of people to other segments.

If RTX announced 15000 job cuts, thats 10000 at Collins and RTX corporate from the merger. Do the math...

Keep in mind the ISP guidelines also stated this is performance based so they will go by the bottom performing employees based on their yearly reviews. Even if employees are currently working military, they will still layoff the under performing and move higher performing current commercial employees into those spots as they see fit.

Anything commercial will be cut, OEM, MRO, and yes all engine centers. Greg Hayes said high cost manufacturing was a target.

No specific date has been mentioned. Only that it will happen within 30-60 days.
However, don't loose any sleep over this. There is nothing that we can do, except pray and prepare.

God, give us grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.

Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.

Amen. ~ Reinhold Niebuhr (1892-1971)

Greg H did say in the announcement today that the 15K is inclusive of the 8500 previously announced and already cut across the “commercial aerospace” portion of RTX this year. So question is, for the 6500 cuts still to come, what is their distribution across PW, Colins and RTX Corp? I haven’t seen any articles to say from where those 8500 came from but clearly some has been PW and some has been Collins.

“Latest is within 30 days or more“

So less than 30 days or more than 30 days. That arrows it down.
