Also got laid off yesterday during a cold Zoom meeting. I did not expect that because in a way I believed in the "family culture" and families stay together during difficult times. I was hoping to keep working at RJ, keep doing a good job and retire in some years. Sad for us and business as usual for RJ today.

Yes, that's a mistake to sell the "culture" when the "culture" is not good. When you have the kind of culture tbey have you just say nothing. The young workers believe that "we are family", "we are in this together", "glad you are here stuff" that older workers roll their eys at. I think they made some mistakes with this layoff but it was time to hit the panic button. They are not too big to fail or be bought :)
