Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Strategy needs to change

I’ve been with NetApp for just a few years and came to the realization that there is no room for career growth here. What is also clear is that the strategy which is mediocre at best and poorly implemented by corporate needs to be redefined. Management is intent only on keeping itself afloat by laying off employees instead of reallocating resources or streamlining processes to better align with retaining valued coworkers. No wonder things are constantly going from bad to worse...

What strategy? I am surprised George is still employed, after the SolidFire write-off.

NetApp’s cloud strategy is to buy cheap tier three foreign owned startups and turn them into game of thrones. Nicely done, Dr Lecter, well played cloud strategy!

Poor Spot. I bet it was a nice little company with some potential. Now NetApp is going to choke the life out of it. Or I am sure they will buck history and THIS acquisition will totally succeed.

Actually NetApp is and has been changing. Look at the Spot acquisition and the rapid pivot to cloud services. Is it painful for people not part of that change? Yes, these threads are full of that pain, but you can't claim there isn't change.
