I see people commenting that layoffs are done with for this year - does anybody really believe that? If so, where have you been for the past several years that you can have such confidence in this company? The ONE thing I learned is that nobody is safe at this place. Thinking anything else is delusional.

Morale will never improve.
The C-Suite has driven this company into the ground. They'll layoff more-and-more and award themselves great bonuses with the same b—s— line about "returning cashflows".
Correct again—managers are assigning busy work (I.e. looking into reports that don’t matter, looking at statistics the higher ups already know) and giving presentations that’re doing nothing more than kicking a dead horse.
But again, no more layoffs for 2020 I can assure you.
Have heard from several managers that they’re assigning busy work to keep up appearances, but the writing is in on the wall “not enough activity to justify the current headcount.”
Correct, there will be no more layoffs this year. October 2 is right around the corner and if they aren’t proclaiming layoffs and get an everyone all riled up at this point, I would say we are safe.
I tried to get a job at McDonald's but they turned me down because all their Geologists have PhDs.
If oil stays sub $40, it'll get ugly and real fast.
Correct, after 5 years of layoffs, there is no more fat to cut. With the stock price looking like something from McDonald's value menu, cuts will continue until morale improves.
So your saying I’m not safe. But my boss told me how valuable I was to the company. 🤮
