Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Thanksgiving hours

I read on here somewhere that Belk is not opening for Thanksgiving this year. Does anyone know if that's true ? You would expect them not to be open with covid ramping back up again in some places.

I feel sorry for the fulfillment staff if they have to work Thanksgiving and not the rest of the store employees, that's not right, give everyone the day off.

Most people will call out on thanksgiving in our store if they have to do fulfillment

Regarding Black Friday and “actually” maintaining attendance, I would expect our store will continue to do the same as we have since opening. I had the opportunity to visit a smaller store than where I’m employed on Friday. I’m grateful for the safety procedures I witnessed! Based on some of the grievances shared on this site, I was concerned when my 77yr old mother said she ventured to Belk.😲. I was happily relieved!!! Not saying I would encourage her to shop anywhere come fall/winter, but even small stores are practicing safety excellence.

Store is closed to customers. We will all be working fulfillment. Nobody will be off Thanksgiving at our store.

Ship to home will be working, afaik. Hoping they have reduced Black Friday hours, too, and hopefully someone actually counting/controlling capacity.

Belk is closed Thanksgiving. I'm not sure ship to home will work or not. I would hope not.
